Say No to the needless destruction of Duffield Green Belt

Amber Valley Borough Council’s 2019 Local Plan allocated two areas of Duffield green belt for the building of 245 houses. This development would not only threaten our distinct village identity, our heritage and historic landscape but it would also place an intolerable burden on our already stretched local services.

A revised Local Plan was reviewed by the central government Planning Inspector in December 2024. No green belt land was identified for housing in the Plan, but an unrealistic ‘windfall allowance’ of 106 houses was included.

Our green belt seems safe for now but new Governemnt housing targets are on the horizon so we need to remain vigilant and be prepared to hold our politicians to account.

Community Action Group

We are a non-political group of Duffield
residents.

Hundreds of people came to meetings in 2019 to find out more about the Amber Valley Borough Council’s proposal to build on the Green Belt. We then formed a Community Action Group to challenge the Borough’s Local Plan and monitor any ongoing threat to the Green Belt.
